Linda CoxI wanted to take a moment to let everyone know that first and foremost, your health and safety is our top priority. Our team is receiving regular updates from MUSC leadership on the COVID-19 virus. You can access those same updates in MUSC’s coronavirus online information center

For the past several weeks, our team has been working remotely. But this doesn’t mean we haven’t been working! We are hearing from our friends, alumni, and donors who are sharing stories about heroes within our community. And, we are making sure that your concerns and questions are answered as quickly as possible. As we are all finding our new normal, we are realizing how grateful we are to be connected with each of you.

Many of you have reached out to support the immediate needs of our health care system, our frontline caregivers, and to provide critical equipment that is in short supply. We thank you! The MUSC Foundation has created a new fund specifically to support the Medical University’s response to the COVID-19 crisis. The fund is expendable and discretionary by design, providing us the flexibility to respond to emerging needs and opportunities as they arise. To learn more about the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, please visit giving.musc.edu. For those who wish to make gifts from their retirement accounts as part of their required minimum distributions (RMD), the CARES (coronavirus aid, relief, and economic security) Act still enables you to make those charitable gifts.

If we can help you in any way, please let us know. We appreciate hearing from you and knowing that you are doing everything you can to remain healthy and safe. Thank you for changing what’s possible during these unprecedented times.

Stay well. We will get through this together.

Linda
