We are so pleased to kick off the new year by introducing you to our team’s new leader: Kate Azizi, who officially joined the Medical University on February 10 to serve as vice president of institutional advancement.
Kate comes to MUSC with a diverse background in development, finance and operations. She and her family moved to Charleston from Chicago, where she previously served as assistant dean of development for the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Before that, she held several positions of increasing responsibility at the University of Chicago, including more than three years as campaign director for individual giving and another three years plus as campaign director/senior director for principal gifts. At North Carolina State University, she served as director of development and external relations at the Poole College of Management and director of corporate and foundation relations for the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Before moving into academia, Kate held a variety of positions at several firms and organizations in the New York area, including the Prospect Park Alliance in Brooklyn, Publicolor in New York City, UBS Financial Services in New Jersey, Prudential Financial in New York City and Prudential in New Jersey.
We are thrilled to have Kate on board as our leader and can’t wait to show her the amazing ways that our loyal supporters are helping to change what’s possible in health care. We know that she will be as inspired by this community’s generosity as we are.
Best,
Natalie
