Happy New Year!Catherine Caroe

The past year was full of new faces (including mine! I joined the team in February 2019) and exciting events for the MUSC Office of Planned Giving. I’d like to share some highlights with you.

We kicked off 2019 with our annual Wills Week, when we offer free estate planning seminars with local attorneys. In these seminars, we learned about key documents, what happens to your assets, and how to leave your loved ones and/or charity in the best hands. This year was our most successful Wills Week to date, with an overwhelming response from more than 100 people.

In November, we hosted the first MUSC Legacy Society Reception, celebrating those who have included the Medical University of South Carolina in their estate plans. The night was a success with 116 Legacy Society members enjoying dinner, drinks, and live music. Members also got an update on plans for MUSC’s future from President David J. Cole, M.D. We are grateful to have added 50 new Legacy Society members in 2019 and eager to see what 2020 has in store! We are also excited to start planning the next reception celebrating your generosity.

I’ve had the opportunity to meet many of you through these events and I look forward to seeing you again in the new year. And if I haven’t, I really hope to meet you soon! The Office of Planned Giving is grateful for each and every one of you and we're excited to see what 2020 brings.

We hope 2020 brings great happiness and success to you and the ones who matter most. Wishing you and your family a safe and prosperous new year!

Sincerely,

Catherine
