Haley

It's hard to believe that it's been one year since our lives were changed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our team has been reminiscing about what our days looked like leading up to the shutdown. Some of us were going on family trips and others were celebrating birthdays with groups of friends. As MUSC continues its efforts to distribute vaccines, we are looking forward to creating new memories with our loved ones, and I think we will all appreciate those moments more than ever.

Speaking of looking to the future, I have a personal update of my own to share. This past year has taught me how important family is, and I've accepted a new job that will allow me to live closer to mine. While I'm excited for this new chapter, I'm equally as sad to leave my MUSC family. I've had the opportunity to meet many of you over the years, and hearing your stories and connections to MUSC has been so meaningful.

After witnessing so many of you leave MUSC in your estate plans, I was inspired to do the same. In 2019, I named the MUSC Child Life Program as the beneficiary of my retirement plan. As a longtime volunteer in the children's hospital, I was searching for a way to leave a meaningful legacy that would help those precious kids in the long run. Using my IRA, I was able to do that in an easy and impactful way.

When events and socials reconvene, I look forward to gathering with you as a fellow member of the MUSC Legacy Society. I'm incredibly proud to have worked for an institution that means the world to me, and I'm thrilled to continue my relationship with MUSC as a Legacy Member. Thank you for your friendship and support over the years, and I wish you all a happy and healthy spring!

Best,
Haley
